Description Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the implementation of major programs, which may include: environmental, health & safety, predictive maintenance program, water treatment program, transformer reliability program, incident investigation program, training program, and similar major programs. The programs managed by the Program Manager are to provide consistent implementation of the program throughout the Calpine Fleet, improving operational reliability and efficiency. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules solutions to program problems and ensures programs are consistently delivered and maintained. Provides technical guidance to other departments in Calpine. Provide technical leadership to both internal and external organizations and entities. Specifically this job posting is responsible for the implementation of a variety of environmental, and health and safety programs on a fleet wide basis. Projects include but not limited to, facilitating the implementation and development of strategic EHS projects, monitoring of event trends, participating in incident investigations, communicating process changes, and providing recommendations to Calpine Management regarding critical items.

• Makes recommendations on moderately complex issues regarding project components and tasks.
• May make recommendations on new processes, tools and services; supports and contributes to development of new products, services or techniques.
• Works on problems of diverse scope ranging from moderate to complex.
• Uses independent judgment requiring in-depth analysis of variable factors. Collaborates with senior professionals in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach.
• Little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
• Serves as project/technical lead on small to medium sized projects; may coordinate work of professionals, technicians and others outside of own department.
• Works within specific guidelines and procedures and is frequently required to interpret application of policies/procedures/technical methods for others; often required to apply ingenuity and originality.
• Resource integrator –builds professional networks and identifies and connects resources to achieve goals. Regularly contributes actionable ideas in brainstorming and planning sessions.
Requirements Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in technical engineering and or chemical field of study
• Seasoned professional; typically requires 5+ years’ experience.
